Position Statements for Tikvat Yisrael
When
the individual believes in Yeshua, he/she receives salvation. It
is a total package. Nothing further is added in terms of his
position in Yeshua. He is justified, sanctified, sealed,
receives spiritual gifts, and made righteous or clean in God's
sight. He is "Grafted" at that instant into Israel.
There is no need for any further "grafting." He/she is
already grafted in, in a moment of time, FOREVER! No one can add
to what Yeshua has done. No one can add to the ingrafting, or
make a "better graft" than Yeshua accomplished, ONCE!
There is no human work that can be performed that "adds
to" what God has already given in Yeshua. It is His
work, and not ours. The Apostolic Scriptures speak of being "Grafted In" to Israel for all those who
accept Yeshua as their Messiah. This "ingrafting"
takes place at the moment of Salvation, and is not any
"added work" that the Believer needs to perform to be
"Grafted." There may indeed be Spiritual Growth after
Salvation, even learning about the Hebraic Roots, etc., but no
further "Grafting" is needed, as he/she is already
"FULLY GRAFTED IN." The adoption is complete and all
rights and privileges that are promised to Israel are promised
to EVERYONE who believes in Messiah Yeshua. This was affirmed in
the Torah and Apostolic Scriptures.
Is the
"Church" the new Israel? An emphatic NO! Is
Christianity the new "faith?" Another emphatic NO! The
ancient faith of the Hebrew people, the belief in God and His
promised Messiah and the following of His Torah-the Living
Word-Yeshua is the faith that God has called us to. Is it
rabbinic Judaism? NO! Is it another form of modern Judaism or
one of the Christian denominations? NO! The faith of the
patriarchs and the Torah given at Mount Sinai are the
foundations for the true Hebraic faith. This faith makes room
for Jews and gentiles under the same covering. This is the faith
of Israel-THE WHOLE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. A faith made up of Believers from
Judah and Ephraim (Israel) with true Ger/non-Israelites being
brought in alongside as equal partakers of the promises.
"There
is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor freeman, neither
male nor female; for in union with the Messiah Yeshua, you are
all one." Galatians 3:28
'Working to
Restore Messianic Israel through Ephraim and Judah' Ezekiel
37:15-28 and Isaiah 8:14
Statement of
Beliefs
Tikvat Yisrael is a Messianic Congregation. Our
goal is to reach the lost House of Israel, made up of Ephraim
and Judah (Ezekiel 37:15-28 and Isaiah 8:14), but we are true to
our Messiah Yeshua’s command to take the Bssar (Gospel) to all
the World. We worship in a distinctly Hebraic style in music,
dance, keeping the Shabbat and the Biblical Holiday’s and
Hebraic liturgy, but faithful to glorify our Messiah Yeshua.
We
believe that there is One God, composed of the Father,
the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit).(Ex 20:3, Deu
6:4, Mat 11:27, Mat 28:19).
We
believe that Yeshua is the Son of God, is God Himself, and
the HaMashiach (the Messiah) who was promised in the Tanach
(Hebrew Scriptures) and who came to take away the sins of
mankind in the Apostolic Scriptures. (Gen 22:8,
Dan 9:25, Mat 16:16, Luk 24:21, Jn 6:69, Jn 8:24, 1Jn 5:1).
We
believe that salvation is only through Yeshua, and that He died
on the tree to bring the Father and mankind back into a right
relationship (Heb 10:12, Psa 50:23, Mat 26:28, Jn 20:31, Rom
8:3).
We
believe that the Tanach and the Apostolic Scriptures are combined the
Holy Scriptures and the Living Word of God. Therefore they
are the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow and never change as
God never changes. He is eternal and His Word is eternal (Luk
11:28, Jn 17:14, Heb 6:5, Rev 22:19, Mat 5:18-18, Rom 7:4, Rom
7:7, Rom 7:12).
We
believe that you must confess your sins and that Yeshua will
forgive them as only He has the authority from the Father to do
so, and that you must be immersed to show your new life in
Yeshua (Mat 3:6, Mat 3:11, Mk 16:16, Jn 3:5).
We
believe that the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) will come and
inhabit you after you have confessed your sins, enabling you to
live a Spirit-filled life, causing you to hunger after the
things of God (Rom 5:5, Rom 8:14, 1Co 6:19).
We
believe that God still has a plan for the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel).
God’s promises to the
Jewish people were not set aside and given over to the Church,
but rather the Church was brought in as part of God’s plan
to bring the promise of salvation to all and will cause the Jew
to turn to her Messiah Yeshua (Rom 1:16, Ex 32:13, Nu 32:22, Deu
4:1, Acts 7:5, Amo 9:15, Rom 10:19, Rom 11:11, Gal 3:17, Rom
9:4).
We
believe in the power of the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) and
the coming together as one in the Lord (Acts 2:42, Acts 2:44,
Acts 2:46).
We
believe in worshipping God with the lifting of our hands,
with the tambourine, in dance, in praise and with stringed
instruments (Psa 150:4, Psa 47:1, Psa 28:2, Psa 63:4, Psa
119:48).
We
believe that Yeshua died and rose from the grave on the third
day, and that He will come again on the clouds as He left (Mat
24:30, Mat 26:64).
We
believe that the Sabbath Day, the 7th day, is a Holy Day set
aside by the Lord Yahweh at creation as a day of rest and a time
to dwell on the things of God (Deu 5:14).
We
believe that the Torah is the living Word of God (Yeshua) and
that we are called to imitate our Lord and Messiah in ALL ways,
meaning as He lived out the Torah so are we called to do the
same. Therefore we are a Torah Observant Congregation but we are
free in Yeshua.
Me
Cha-moe-cha ba-ay-leem Adonai, me ka-moe-cha neh-dahr ba-ko-desh,
no-ra t’he-lote oh-say feh-leh.
Who
is like Thee O Lord among the gods? Who is like Thee glorified
in holiness? You are awesome in praise, working wonders O
Lord, who is like Thee O Lord?
(The
Me Chamoecha is a 3,500 year old hymn of praise that the
Israelites sang at the Red Sea thanking God for their
deliverance).
We
are a Messianic Congregation in that we believe that
the Scripture's promises are to ALL Israel. That Israel is not
just made up of Judah, Benjamin or Levi but is composed of all
the 12 tribes and that God is calling them back and restoring
them through Messiah Yeshua. The Southern Kingdom was made up of
Judah, Benjamin and Levi and the rest of the tribes made up the
Northern Kingdom of Ephraim/Israel. Ezekiel 37:15-28
this
Statement of Faith is to show what our foundations are, but are
by no means all inclusive of everything that we
believe..........
Statement of
Purpose
We believe that
"ALL" the Scriptures are the WORD of God,
Old and New Testaments, thereby meaning that the Torah or Five
Books of Moses are valid for Messianic BELIEVERS and those
non-Hebrew Believers who choose to follow the Living Torah
(Yeshua). Following the Torah is part of our walk with
God.
We are working
toward the goal of restoring Messianic Israel through the coming
together of the two kingdoms of Ephraim (the Northern Kingdom of
Israel) and Judah (the Southern Kingdom of Judah composed of
Judah, Benjamin and Levi). Ephraim was dispersed into all the
world and given over to the Pagan Nations-the Goyim. But God
promised to restore them from their dispersion and exile and
today He is calling them back and they are bringing with them
Messianic Gerim/non-Israelites. There should be no difference in
being a Messianic Jew or a Messianic Ephraimite for in Messiah
Yeshua we are ALL part of the Whole House of Israel, the true kingdom of Yeshua.
Torah:
The word Torah has been misunderstood by many; and this
includes Jews as well as Christians. The following definition
of Torah is from the Strongs: 08451 towrah {to-raw'} or torah
{to-raw'} ¤ from 03384; TWOT - 910d; n f ¤ AV - law 219; 219
¤ law, direction, instruction(human or divine), body of prophetic teaching,
instruction in Messianic age, body of priestly direction
or instruction, body of legal directives, law, law
of the burnt offering, of special law, codes of law, custom, manner, the Deuteronomic or Mosaic Law.
Torah is the
teaching of God. His instructions to us. There is a misunderstanding
of the 613 Mitzvot (Commandments) of God that Torah Observant
Israelites follow. It is our desire that this misunderstanding
be corrected. In an on-going effort to correct this we will be
presenting links to other sites where the 613 Mitzvot are
already categorized and discussions on whether following these
Mitzvot place us back under the Law when some feel that we are
under Grace or Love, or have we been under Grace all along?
